Academic + Professional Enhancement
OMSA offers many programs designed to support students' academic pursuits including the Graduate and Professional Studies Series, Academic Enhancement Workshops, the Diversity in the Workplace Conference and the Chicago Multicultural Connection (CMC).
Academic Enhancement Workshops
Academic Enhancement Workshops cover everything from tips on studying and writing papers for first years to where to look for scholarship and fellowship information.
Chicago Multicultural Connection (CMC)
The Chicago Mulicultural Connection is a diversity mentoring program that connects undergraduate students with alumni, graduate students, staff, and faculty in order to develop academic and professional interests.
Diversity in the Workplace Conference
This Fall Quarter conference connects students to active and interesting alumni in an effort to not only build the community of color but also to encourage the development of valuable networking skills. Students can potentially obtain internships related to their field of study and/or make connections that may lead to a job offer after graduation. Diversity in the Workplace is co-sponsored by several departments, professional schools, and academic divisions within the University.
Graduate and Professional Studies Series
The Graduate and Professional Studies Series is designed to help students navigate the graduate and professional school application process. Learn how to secure effective recommendations, where to take test prep classes, how to approach your statement of purpose, and what current students think about their graduate and professional school experiences.
RSO Funding Through the OMSA Allocation Board
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) Allocation Board is designed to offer support and funding to events by Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) that directly impact OMSA's constituents, enhance the OMSA mission, and add value to the University community. Please see RSO Funding for more information.
